Work Package 1: Co-ordination
|
|
| |
Main Objectives
• Co-ordination of entire project;
• Initiation, integration, and maintenance of links to advisory board
of stakeholders;
• Organisation of technical and review workshops;
• Preparation of progress reports for Brussels.
Description of work and methodologies
Implementation of the co-ordination structure: Work within study
regions (logistics, data collection and inte-gration) will be
co-ordinated by the study region team leaders, research within WPs by
the workpackage leaders. WP leaders, study region team leaders, and the
two overall co-ordinators (one for ecology, one for socio-economics,
both from the UFZ) will form a Steering Committee to jointly guarantee
a smooth organisation of FRAP and to monitor progress “to time and to
cost”. Decisions within the Steering Committee will be reached by
con-sensus.
Communication flow. We will set up a system for exchange of data,
results, co-ordi-nation deci-sions, and information material, and for
reporting among part-ners primarily using email and the Inter-net
platform ELISE. The Internet system will contain a data shuttle for
data exchange among teams and will allow all members to monitor
progress in data collation, analysis, and deliverables by check-ing the
latest updates in a results section. Time schedules for work within WPs
will be regularly up-dated and announced on the Internet platform.
Each year, there will be two main technical workshops for the whole
consortium to facilitate co-ordination and inte-gra-tion of research
and results. An advisory board of stake-holders will be established
and invited to all workshops. During these meetings we will review
progress and control quality of results. The intricate network of
interactions between members allows a particularly thorough quality
control of the work, as it will be done both within WP teams and within
research area teams.
We will produce an annual report for Brussels and use a six-monthly
internal reporting schedule. An additional Internet based bi-monthly
reporting will be implemented. Two project managers are employed for
the day-to-day management of FRAP.
